We are pleased to offer the Portamix mobile mixing machines.
How they developed the range …
“Portamix developed the worlds first mobile mixing station in Wellington NZ, during the late 90’s when it became apparent that there was a specific need for the floor coatings industry. The development was spearheaded by Miles Suckling, who’s market knowledge and experience in the construction tools industry gave him a head start into what is now a global market.
Portamix global is a family owned business, now based in Masterton, NZ and committed to provide floor coating applicators the means to increase their profitability. We do this by supplying mixing equipment for self-leveling floor coatings. Portamix is the worlds most innovative mix-and-pour system, engineered to gain the most out of time and materials. We are constantly improving and innovating to ensure contractors all around the world can get their floor coatings down right the first time, every time.”
With all the uncertainty at the moment due to Covid-19 we are beginning to see small signs of improvement. We have been able to bring back most of our workforce. We remain hopeful the construction sector gains momentum so we can bring everyone back.
Following the Prime Ministers announcement last night we will be temporarily closed with immediate effect.

Thursday the 30th of November 1989 (The romans would have written the date – XXX • XI • MCMLXXXIX.), 30 years ago the business which is now called Air Power Products Ltd, company number 02447892 was incorporated.
On this day “You Got It” by New Kids on the Block were number 1 in the uk
and Sheffield Wednesday beat Liverpool 2-0.
The company has gone through many changes over the years and had some great moments in the mining sector which has sadly declined. The business has forged ahead in the compressed air industry and branched out with APP Site Services and ProCut Engineering.
We are very proud of what the business has achieved over the years and we hope to continue into the future providing expert solutions in compressed air and the engineering sector.

Due to our knowledge of compressed air systems and 4 way manifolds, we do many special compressed air projects. With our in house engineering department we love to solve a problem.
A client was struggling to effectively use multiple pneumatic machines on their previous 4 way manifolds.
We found that their compressor was producing enough compressed air, but their manifold was creating a ‘bottleneck’ effect on the airflow. So we designed them these sleek large and small 4 way manifolds, solving the restriction of air flow. The company is now able to proceed with the task with no downtime due to air flow restriction.

Why is schedule maintenance important. We all know if you neglect your car service and scheduled maintenance this can lead to your car breaking down to the point it may have to be scrapped. This is the same with your air tools and compressors etc,. So it is a good idea to have at least a basic maintenance plan in place for all your tool and equipment. This doesn’t have to be massive and we have detailed some basic ideas that might help you save money in the long run.
Check lubrication levels every 24hrs. Low lubrication levels can lead to all kinds of issues.
Replace filters. Filters keep compressor air clean which is important for the longevity of your machine.
Belt tension. Drive belt on your compressor transfers energy to your tools. Not having the right tension can make your tolls run less efficiently.
